Visit statistics, only with a yes

With your consent, First Edition Kapital AS uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, which pages people read and how the site is used. Google processes page addresses, referral information, timestamps, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. Google also receives network information when your browser connects to its service.

The purpose is to improve this website. The legal basis is consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and section 3-15 of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act. This site does not request advertising consent: advertising storage, ad personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the site code.

The consent system sends no requests to Google before you accept. If you reject, Analytics does not load. Your choice does not affect the content or email subscriptions.

What stays in your browser?

The consent record is used only to respect your choice. The language preference is used only for the language feature you selected. You can delete these records in your browser; you will then be asked again.

Changed your mind?

Open “Privacy settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Reject analytics”. Further Analytics collection stops and the website’s accessible Google Analytics cookies are deleted. If Analytics is already running, the page reloads to stop its script. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal and does not automatically delete information already sent to Google.

Your choice applies only to the browser and device you use. The choice, timestamp and text version are stored locally; the site does not send a separate consent receipt to a server.

Retention at Google

Google Analytics is configured to retain user and event data covered by its data-retention setting for two months. “Reset on new user activity” is disabled, so new activity does not extend the retention period for the user identifier. These settings were updated on 5 October 2026; Google states that changes take effect after 24 hours. Cookie expiry in your browser and retention of statistics by Google are separate. Aggregate reports may have different retention periods from user and event data.

Email updates through follow.it

When you request new-article notifications, your email address goes directly to follow.it. You complete and confirm the subscription there. The purpose is to deliver the updates you requested, based on consent. You can unsubscribe in the emails. follow.it handles subscription information and may include advertising in emails. Its privacy policy also describes sharing information with advertising partners for its own services; its service is also covered by follow.it’s privacy policy. RSS is available without an email address.

Hosting and providers

GitHub Pages delivers the website. GitHub receives technical information, such as IP addresses and requests, to deliver and secure the service. See GitHub’s privacy statement for its processing and retention. The purpose of necessary hosting and security is to provide a working website; the legal basis for the company’s processing is legitimate interests under GDPR Article 6(1)(f). Fonts are hosted on this website, without requests to Google Fonts.

Provider agreements and processing outside the EEA

Google and GitHub may process data outside the EEA, including in the US. Google's data processing terms have been accepted for the Analytics account, with First Edition Kapital AS recorded as the legal entity. Google's terms describe the use of EU Standard Contractual Clauses or other valid transfer mechanisms. GitHub describes Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework in its international transfer information. Analytics consent is not itself a legal basis for international transfers.

follow.it is operated by Inisev Ltd. in Malta. Its Data Processing Addendum covers subscription data collected through our subscription tools. According to the addendum, no separate signature is required; it applies upon acceptance of the service's terms and privacy policy. It specifies processing in the EEA and permits transfers to other regions, including the US, in compliance with data protection law. It does not identify the specific transfer mechanism used. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion and restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. You can withdraw consent and complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. Contact the company at the address above. Requests are normally answered within one month. Please do not send sensitive information in an initial message.
